The Fez to Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour – 3 Days covers a diverse range of Morocco's landscapes, from the lush Middle Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert and beyond. It's an ideal way to experience Morocco's natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant culture in just three days.
Start your Moroccan adventure after breakfast as we depart from Fez towards Merzouga. Our first stop is the alpine town of Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its European-style architecture and cool climate. Stretch your legs by the famous lion statue and stroll through the manicured gardens. Next, we pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we’ll pause in the Cedar Forest to observe the Barbary apes. We continue along the scenic Tiz Ntalghamt Pass and through the Ziz Gorge, where the landscape gradually transforms into arid desert plains. Enjoy a traditional Berber lunch in Errachidia, known for its warm hospitality. We then follow the lush Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic views as we drive through Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga. In the late afternoon, you’ll meet your dromedary for a 50 to 70-minute camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets over the desert, capture breathtaking photos and try sandboarding (optional & requested) on the dunes. At the luxury desert camp, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner with live Berber music under the starlit sky.
Rise early to witness a magical Sahara sunrise before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Return to Merzouga via camel or 4WD vehicle transfer. We journey toward the impressive Todgha Gorge, a towering canyon with walls over 300 meters high. Take a leisurely walk through the gorge, where you can admire the striking rock formations and enjoy a Berber lunch. Afterward, we continue to Boumalen Dades, passing by the picturesque Dades Valley. Along the way, we’ll stop to admire the unique Monkey’s Fingers rock formation and capture panoramic views of the Dades Gorges. Relax and unwind at a charming hotel where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we travel through the Skoura Valley, known as the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs,” offering numerous photo opportunities. We’ll visit the fragrant Kelaa Mgouna, also known as the Rose City, famous for its rosewater production. Our next highlight is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest and most famous kasbah in Morocco. This UNESCO World Heritage site has served as a backdrop for many films and was once a key stop along ancient caravan routes. Explore its narrow alleys, cross the river, and enjoy panoramic views from the granary at the top. After lunch, we continue our journey across the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Admire the changing landscapes and Berber villages before arriving in Marrakech in the evening, where your 3-day Fez to Marrakech Sahara Desert Tour concludes.
